Southbourne and the area around it...

Chichesters first indoor swimming pool was built in the 1950's in replace of the Gaumont.

In the 1950's southbourne was much smaller than it is today, none of Kelsey Avenue was built, instead there was a big Manor house for the lady of the manor. The lady of the manor use to ban people from hanging their washing up to high this was because she did not wish to see it.

The roads and pollution in southbourne...

The is now more pollution in southbourne than there was in the 1990's. This is ue to the incress in the munbers of cars and the numbers of roads being opened. Before the 1950's the main road in Southbourne did not exist.

Population...

The population in Southbourne and the area around it would have grown since the 1950's. More houses have been built whitch means there will be more people living in the area. as well this more jobs would have come avalible due to the rise in the pop.

Southbourne is a village in the Chichester District of West Sussex, England. It lies to the east of Emsworth, the west of Nutbourne and south-east of Westbourne. Southbourne has a small railway station on the West Coastway Line between Southampton and Brighton. It is home to Bourne Community College, which takes secondary pupils from around the area, along with leisure and library facilities which serve surrounding villages and settlements. The A259 road, formerly designated A27 and the main coast route until the construction of a new dual carriageway, runs through the village.
